Dental Crowns & Bridges

Professional smile restoration in Hampstead

RP Advanced Dental offers a complete range of professional smile restoration treatments in Hampstead. A small but very important part of this range is work involving dental crowns and bridges.

Crowns are a fantastic solution for teeth that may be damaged beyond the repair of a filling, or that require an aesthetic completion following successful root canal or implant treatment. Bridges are used in combination with crowns when patients have a missing tooth or several missing teeth in a row, restoring the smile and completing its aesthetic appeal once again.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are restorations that look very natural and replace the tooth that sits above the gum line. Dental crowns are used to protect the remaining natural tooth, and to ensure the smile continues to look beautiful and whole.
A crown may be an appropriate treatment in lots of circumstances such as:

  • To support a dental bridge
  • As a completion for successful root canal therapy
  • To protect a tooth that is very worn or damaged
  • To improve the aesthetics of the smile
  • To save a tooth that is too damaged for a filling
  • To support a tooth that already has a large filling
  • To complete dental implant treatment

There are lots of benefits to dental crowns which are extremely versatile and can be useful in a wide variety of treatments.

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge effectively fills the gap made by a missing tooth and is supported by a crown either side. A bridge is made to look incredibly natural, although you can have a gold or metal bridge if you prefer. Dental implant supported bridges are a more advanced alternative to a standard bridge because they are supported by dental implants which replace the root of a tooth. Dental implant supported bridges are incredibly secure, and require no treatment of surrounding natural teeth.

Types Of Dental Bridges

There are several types of dental bridges including:

  • conventional bridges which are supported by crowns either side
  • resin bonded bridges which are highly durable and are supported with metal wings either side
  • cantilever bridges which are secured to healthy teeth on just one side.

CEREC Technology

RP Advanced Dental uses advanced CEREC technology at the heart of their crown and bridge treatment.

Our in-house state-of-the-art CEREC cad-cam machine allows us to create and place incredibly high quality tooth restorations in just once visit, with no in-between laboratory time needed. This huge convenience factor transforms the experience for patients visiting our Hampstead clinic for dental restoration treatment.

Our specially trained CEREC dentists take digital scans of your mouth and pass the information to our CEREC milling machine which creates all types of dental restorations from a single piece of ceramic. The process typically takes 1 – 2 hours saving you additional visits and inconvenience when compared to the traditional process where crowns etc. are made at an external laboratory.

We are looking forward to seeing you
