A Complete Dental Check-up

We offer a comprehensive check-up to check your gums, teeth and oral soft tissues, as well as any existing dental work you have had done.

Your dentist will recommend the correct check-up frequency for your individual needs, although usually we advise you come to us every six months. We also recommend you visit us whenever you need to in-between your check-ups. For example, if you suspect you have an infection, if you suffer a dental injury, or if you have any oral health concerns or are interested in any of our cosmetic dentistry treatments.

What To Expect From A Check-up At Our Hampstead Clinic

We are proud to offer a comprehensive dental check-up at our clinic which will usually involve the following checks:

  • A conversation with you for any medical updates on both your oral and general health, including information about any new medications
  • Asking if you have had any concerns about your oral health, such as any tenderness or pain with the teeth and gums
  • A head and neck check to look for any swelling or painful areas, issues with salivary glands, lymph nodes or the joint of your jaw
  • A check of all your oral soft tissues including the inside of your lip and cheeks, your tongue and the top and bottom of your mouth
  • A complete gum check to check for signs of gum disease
  • A bite check to look at how the top arch and bottom arch of your teeth fit together
  • A complete check of your teeth, looking for decay, enamel issues, chips or cracks and other common problems
  • An oral cancer check looking for early signs of problems
  • Checking any current dental work like fillings or veneers
  • Performing any diagnostics that are required, such as X-rays or scans
  • Speaking to you about any improvements you would like to make to your smile, such as teeth whitening

If any issues are diagnosed, we will discuss those with you and explain the next steps such as referral or treatment.

High-Quality Dental Fillings

If decay has affected a tooth then you may require a filling. Decay treatment involves a quick and effective local anaesthetic to ensure your comfort. We will then remove the decay, clean the remaining tooth and then add the filling material before ensuring it fits correctly with the teeth on the opposite arch of your mouth.

At RP Advanced Dental and Implant Centre we prefer to use white fillings because they are more aesthetically pleasing and in most placements, just as strong and durable as a silver (amalgam) filling. We will always discuss your options with you in full before starting any treatment.

Cerec Inlays & Onlays

Where a filling is not suitable for larger cavity treatments, we might suggest an inlay or an onlay. An inlay fits into the biting surface of the tooth, whilst an onlay is bigger and is designed for larger areas of the tooth. We use advanced CEREC technology to create high-quality inlays to ensure your treatment is as precise and convenient as possible.

We are looking forward to seeing you
