Advanced tooth replacement in Hampstead

RP Advanced Dental and Implant Centre are proud to offer the most effective replacement for missing teeth currently available. Over the last decade dental implant treatment has continued to develop and is now considered the ‘gold standard’ in restorative dentistry. Implants are incredibly innovative and are made to look and feel as close to natural teeth as is currently possible. With the right maintenance and care, implants can last a lifetime so are a worthy investment if you value your smile.

The Importance Of Replacing Missing Teeth

Replacing missing teeth is extremely important for lots of reasons, including:

  • Tooth loss can affect the way you eat, the way you speak and the way you look
  • Surrounding teeth may collapse in and move, causing misaligned teeth which are more prone to tooth decay
  • Tooth loss can cause bite issues which may lead to issues with the jaw joint, such as headaches
  • Missing teeth that can be seen when you smile may cause a loss of confidence
  • Tooth loss causes the root beneath the gum line to slowly dissolve, causing a change in your facial structure which can be ageing

We would always recommend you seek to replace missing teeth as soon as possible following tooth loss.

Why Dental Implants Are The Gold Standard In Tooth Replacement

Dental implants are the most desirable option for tooth replacement because they replace the entire tooth, including the tooth root.
This is beneficial for many different reasons such as:

  • Tooth replacements supported by implants are incredibly secure
  • The tooth root is replaced, slowing the degrading of the jawbone
  • Dental implant crowns are easy to clean
  • Dental implants can last for life
  • Dental implants feel and look incredibly natural
  • Surrounding teeth do not need to be treated as with crowns and bridges
  • Patients with dental implants can eat whatever they want to without worrying about the security of their replacement teeth

How Dental Implants Work

Dental implants are made of three separate parts; the implant itself, the abutment (the part that holds the crown) and the crown. They work by fully replacing the tooth root with a titanium implant which, over a period of a few months, bonds with the jawbone becoming a permanent part of your body. Once the healing process has finished, replacement teeth are attached and your smile is complete again.

What To Expect When You Come In For Dental Implant Treatment

Before any treatment can be done we ask you to come in for a consultation so that we can check that implant treatment is the right option. Although most patients are suitable for implant treatment, sometimes certain things can cause the treatment to be unsuitable. This is rare but we want you to get the best possible value from the work, so we will always be honest about which treatments we think are best. We will always offer alternatives in the event that dental implant treatment isn't right for you.

If implant treatment is a great choice for you, following your consultation you will be invited to come in for treatment on a day convenient for you. Our dental implant clinic in Hampstead is very convenient.

We will place local anaesthetic in the treatment area to ensure your complete comfort whilst you're with us. Once the area is totally numb we can place the implant in the jawbone and apply a dressing. You will also receive detailed aftercare instructions following your treatment. It may then take up to three or four months for your implants to heal fully and fuse with the jawbone, and we will regularly check the healing progress at check-up appointments.

Once healing has completed we can attach the abutment and crown to complete your implant treatment, leaving you with a beautiful, full smile once again.

Bone Grafts

During your consultation we may discuss the need for bone grafts with you if we feel that is something you require in order to ensure successful treatment. Bone grafts can be necessary if there isn't enough jaw-bone to support an implant.

Different Types Of Implant Solutions

We provide individual implants for individual missing teeth, which is often the most natural and effective way to restore a smile. However, doing this can raise the price of treatment when there several teeth missing and where there are alternatives that are less costly.

For example; implant supported bridges are a great choice for a few missing teeth in a row, and implant supported dentures provide a great option for replacing entire arches of teeth.

Our revolutionary ‘all on 4’ procedure uses 4 (or sometimes 6) implants which are placed in a way that effectively and securely supports a full arch of replacement teeth, completing the smile without the need for multiple individual implants.

We are looking forward to seeing you
